The Timberlake team has supported the Christmas in April (http://www.christmasinaprilpg.org/) initiative for several years. Since 1989, Christmas in April has been “Rebuilding Homes and Spirits” and we have been a big supporter of their work. From being a volunteer on in-the-field projects for beneficiaries, to golfing in their Annual Tournament to help raise funds for this important and necessary work, Christmas in April is one of our team’s favorite activities to participate in.
This year, we helped an elderly couple living in Prince George’s County, MD with yard work, painting and other improvements they needed on their home.
Timberlake is expecting to begin construction shortly on a Timberlake Cypress model home on a homeowner’s lot in Mt. Airy. This will be a turnkey project with Timberlake handling all of the design and site development work for the project on a beautiful wooded 6-acre lot overlooking a pond, wetland and surrounded by protected forest conservation areas. The house was customized to meet the homeowner’s design tastes and focus on energy efficiency and will feature a stone front, 3-car sideload garage, 16’ x 10’ sunroom with skylights, KraftMaid maple cabinetry, custom 2nd floor laundry room, and the Owen’s Corning Complete whole house insulation system.

Timberlake Design/Build is very pleased to announce that a recent Timberlake project in the Sherwood Forest community of Annapolis has been recognized as an award-winning project by HGTV’s Bang for Your Buck show. Hosted by Vern Yip, in each episode three homeowners from the same city renovate the same room of the house with the same budget. After the renovation, experts determine the new value of each home revealing whose remodeling choices and design considerations were good investment decisions and provided the greatest bang for your buck.
Partnering with interior designer Dream House Studios of Annapolis, Timberlake transformed the original great room area – including the kitchen, living room and dining room space – of a 1929 cottage overlooking the Severn River from a boxy, closed off area to a wonderful, inviting, open and functional space. Accentuated by edgy pendant lighting, beautiful white maple cabinetry, KitchenAid appliances and jacobean oak hardwood flooring, the new space has become the focal point of the house for the family of six; including two dogs and a cat.
Timberlake recently completed a full 2nd floor 1,000 square foot addition to this original single story Annapolis cottage built in 1949 effectively doubling the size of the house. Complementing the overall architectural look and feel of the house the addition added 3 new bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, and a 4x12 master bedroom cantilevered balcony. Working under tight time constraints with the owners move-in date set hard and fast, Timberlake was able to complete the work ahead of schedule on on budget despite challenging site constraints and a very rainy spring.
In 2009, Timberlake previously completed an extensive kitchen renovation at the same house which received an Award of Excellence from the Home Builder’s Association of Maryland.
